About the competitions

SWTC run the only Sutherland Shire Competition for juniors to compete against other teams every
Saturday. Competition is imperative in implementing what you have learnt from your lessons into a
match situation. Competition help builds confidence, resilience and the opportunity to play others
as well as obtaining UTR (Universal Tennis Ranking) ranking points which in turn can help juniors
in achieving entry into tournaments, as well as establishing ranking points throughout this
competition. SWTC are passionate about building a foundation for our players and to help them
on their tennis journey. At SWTC we run a Saturday Morning Junior Competition which runs every
term. You will be placed in a team of 2 players that play every Saturday morning. This competition
consists of 4 divisions. The cost per player is $100.

BWR Singles competition is the biggest singles competition run throughout the Sutherland Shire.
It is a great way to meet people, improve fitness, play against a range of different players,
construct strategies and points and learn more about your game as well as obtaining UTR
(Universal Tennis Ranking) ranking points. SWTC run hitting/grading nights to see what division
would best be suited and that is the division you will play in throughout the remainder of the
competition. Those playing in the competition will be notified when we will be running the hitting/
grading nights. Players are scheduled for one best of 3 set (3rd set 10 point super tiebreaker)
singles match each week. Matches are played on either Wednesday's Thursday's or Sunday's.
Competition finishes with semi finals & finals followed by challenge matches. The competition
takes a maximum of 80 players. Cost is $195 for the competition.
